At Ohio Valley Adult Day Services (OVADS), we are dedicated to helping individuals build a valuable life and job skills through a variety of structured and supportive programs.
Vocational Training and Integrated Employment Opportunities
OVADS offers hands-on training in manufacturing and assembly-based sheltered workshop environment, where individuals develop skills through tasks such as:
In addition to in-house training, OVADS provides Vocational Habilitation Community opportunities through contracts with local businesses, allowing individuals to train in janitorial and custodial tasks. These partnerships help gain real-world experience and prepare for potential employment in the community.
Volunteerism
Our program goes beyond job training - OVADS is actively involved in the community. Individuals have the opportunity to volunteer at the local Human Society, where they engage in caring for animals by assisting with tasks involving the dogs and cats at the shelter. These experiences help foster empathy, responsibility, and social connection.
Alternative Programming and Community Engagement
For those seeking alternatives to traditional Vocational Habilitation, OVADS offers Adult Day Support and Adult Day Support Community programs that focus on recreational, leisure, and sensory activities. There programs promote personal enrichment and greater community involvement through engaging group activities and regular community outings.
